Team Building; Diversity; Long-Term Relationships

Over the years, Michael E. Marion & Associates, Inc., has developed and refined its expertise in identifying, assessing and selecting appropriately qualified candidates for individual assignments. This expertise, along with managerial and organizational skills, has enabled the firm to become expert in building teams of people. Some of the firm's teambuilding experiences include:

* At Genentech we built a team of four director level oncologists.

* At Merck, several Sales Management teams have been developed for both Primary Care and Specialty Product purposes. We have been the sole source for these teams which have ranged from twelve to forty.

* At Exelixis, we helped shape the company's scientific team supporting the Chief Scientific Officer with 13 Director level or above individuals including Head of Development, Discovery, Pharmacology and Clinical Research. We were proud to have helped take this company public.

* At Johnson & Johnson we have built teams of regional and field level sales management.

* At Astra Pharmaceuticals (now AstraZeneca), an entire Clinical Development team was built in seven months, starting with the Senior Vice President, supported by six Directors (Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Operations) and then fourteen Managers, giving the firm an NDA capability that it did not have previously.

Merck has been the firm's largest and longest client. Over 200 search assignments have been conducted in most functional areas, and the firm has been commended for high retention rates and for doing an outstanding job of diversifying its culture. Furthermore, many of those candidates placed with Merck have since been promoted and have hired the firm to conduct search activities for new people as the company grows.

The firm is also a preferred provider of Johnson and Johnson and Genentech, where we have built teams of sales management and clinical research leaders... many of whom bring diverse backgrounds and experience.
